IME Publishes New SLP on QRA
The Institute of Makers of Explosives (IME) announces the release of Safety Library Publication (SLP) 31, “Methods and Algorithms Used for Quantitative Risk Analysis.” This new publication in IME’s safety library provides general information on quantitative risk assessment (QRA) used by the commercial explosives industry. SLP-31 describes accepted fundamentals of risk-based decision making and the methodologies and algorithms that are used for calculating the risk of commercial explosive operations. It is designed to assist industry members, regulators, legislators and the public to understand the science underlying risk analysis and the valuable contribution QRA can make in enhancing safety in the explosives industry. Like all IME publications, SLP-31 is available for free download at www.ime.org.
