FY 2016 THUD Bill Advances with HMSP Rider

The House Appropriations Committee voted 30-21 to approve a FY 2016 Transportation-HUD appropriations bill that would provide $55.26 billion in discretionary spending for infrastructure and housing programs.  The bill includes the policy rider championed by Rep. Charlie Dent (R-PA) to prohibit FMCSA from automatically denying Hazardous Materials Safety Permits (HMSP) to holders based solely on the HazMat Out-Of-Service disqualification.
