Rep. Sam Graves Asks FMCSA for Action on the HMSP Program
12/08/2013
Rep. Sam Graves (R-MO) has been a leader in efforts to reform the Hazardous Materials Safety Permit program. Furthering those efforts, Rep. Graves wrote to FMCSA Administrator Anne Ferro asking what "specific actions the agency is prepared to take to remedy the lack of due process for carriers faced with the loss of their HMSP." Despite pledges to expedite action to resolve this issue, the agency still has not submitted a report to Congress assessing program shortcomings mandated by Congress in MAP-21, surface transportation legislation enacted in 2012.
