IME Supports Legislation to Disqualify Individuals Names on the TSDB from Possessing Explosives
03/05/2013
Senator Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ) and Representative Peter King (R-NY) introduced companion bills to close a loophole in Federal Explosives Law. The legislation would disqualify individuals named on the terrorist screening database from possessing explosives. IME supports this legislation. If these legislation is enacted it will better harmonize ATF background check requirements with other federal vetting programs of security-sensitive populations, increasing the opportunity to leverage ATF clearances to substitute for other vetting programs. A letter affirming our support was provided to both members of Congress.
