IME Policy Development

IME policy is developed by eight standing committees and the Board of Governors to promote the safe and secure manufacture, handling, storage, transportation and use of commercial explosive materials.

This policy is implemented and communicated by a professional staff in Washington, DC through dissemination of accurate information to the public, government agencies and other interested organizations and individuals.

For over 100 years, IME safety and security recommendations and guidelines concerning commercial explosives have been published for use by industry and government agencies responsible for the development and implementation of legislation, regulations and rules governing the commercial explosives industry.
