IME’s Awards Five Safety and Health Certificates of Excellence for 2022

Islamorada, Florida – During the Institute of Makers of Explosives 2023 Annual Meeting and Awards Banquet, the IME awarded five member companies with its annual Safety and Health Certificate of Excellence for 2022.

The Safety and Health Certificate of Excellence is given annually to IME member companies with a total recordable incident rate better than the average overall rate achieved by the chemical manufacturing industry.

“I am thrilled to recognize and thank these five companies for their commitment to creating a safe working environment for their employees,” said IME President Clark Mica. “IME’s mission is to ensure the safe and secure manufacture, transport, distribution, and use of commercial explosives and the companies we’re recognizing are leading the way in safety for the commercial explosives industry.”

The five IME member companies receiving Safety and Health Certificates of Excellence are GEODynamics, Dyno Nobel, Halliburton - Jet Research Center (JRC), Orica and Baker Hughes. This is the second year in a row for GEODynamics, Dyno Nobel, Halliburton - JRC and Orica to receive the award.

“The highest priority in our industry is keeping our workforce and the communities we operate in safe,” said Carl Byrd of Dyno Nobel and Chairman of IME’s Safety, Health, and Environmental Affairs Committee. “It’s an honor to stand alongside these fellow IME members and recognize their commitment to a safe and secure commercial explosives industry.”
