Law Enforcement


The Institute has a long history of cooperation with federal and state law enforcement agencies such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.  

As manufacturers of explosive materials, we have a special interest in doing everything possible to prevent the misuse of our products. The industry promotes the safe and secure transportation and storage of explosives, licensing of all purchasers and background checks for all who have possession of explosives in order to make them available only to legitimate users.  

The IME supports law enforcement programs such as  the FBI's Hazardous Devices School and Special Agent Bomb Technicians and the  ATF U.S. Bomb Data Center and Certified Explosives Specialists in an effort to bring all possible resources to the solution of crimes involving the illegal use of explosives.
