Storage and Commercial Transactions

The Department of Justice (DOJ), Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) is responsible for storage of explosive materials.  This includes magazine standards, along with licensing of manufacturers, importers, and distributors and permitting of purchasers, receivers, and users.  Individuals authorized to possess explosives are subject to background checks to assess potential security threats.
